Lupit IPSF competition pole, brass, 45mm

Anyone using a LUPIT pole in IPSF competitions must use configuration 2 of the equipment standards.
LUPIT POLE CHAMPION is a high-tech competition pole manufactured to the highest standards of the pole industry.
The pole has a usable height of 4m and a diameter of 45mm.
The height of the truss system must be 414cm. It is a combination of a highly polished stainless steel tube on the outside and a very strong inner steel tube.
The competition pole extension rings can be added/removed at the base to fine-tune the height of the pole. This is an optional feature. The pole height includes 1 ring (1 cm) when ordered, which can be removed to lower the pole or up to 2 rings can be added to raise the pole. This adjustment feature ensures optimal pole placement and stability, as riggers are often unable to adjust the crosshead height of the truss with such precision.
The primary height adjustment feature is located on the top axis of the pole, which slides directly into the top bearing of the truss mount. It can be moved 3 cm in any direction, giving riggers some room for adjustment. In general, a truss height of 4140 mm is required for IPSF competition poles, but this can vary by +/- 30 mm

The pole has been tested under extreme conditions: Safety, materials, and mechanical construction.

Features

  • One-piece, brass pole
  • The lower bearing system and the upper bearing system must be securely fixed
  • Mirror polished brass tube on the outside and a very strong inner steel tube.
  • Brass 45mm pole.
  • Lower disc with bearing assembly and 4-floor mounting holes.
  • Upper universal mounting plate with bearing system and truss mount clamps.
  • Tools and screws for mounting.

For mirror-polished brass poles, the safest approach is to dissolve and wipe off the wax, not to scrape, polish, or use abrasive cleaners. Brass is much softer than stainless steel, and Mirror-polished brass scratches very easily.

Purpose
The poles have been protected for international transport with a temporary anti-corrosion wax coating. This coating must be removed before use.

• Clean microfiber cloths (lint-free)
• Mild mineral spirits (white spirit) or odorless petroleum solvent. Optional remove
with:
o Mineral spirits
o Isopropyl alcohol
o Citrus-based degreasers
o Warm detergent solution
• Mild dish soap
• Warm water
• Clean dry microfiber cloths
• Nitrile gloves

Avoid aggressive solvents such as:
• Acetone
• Paint thinners
• Lacquer removers
• Abrasive cleaners
• Steel wool
• Scotch-Brite pads
• Polishing compounds
These products may damage or scratch the polished brass surface.

Step 1 – Initial Inspection
Inspect the pole surface for any visible dust or particles.
Before wiping, remove loose dust using a clean microfiber cloth.
Important: Never rub dirt particles against the brass surface.

Step 2 – Dissolve the Wax
1. Apply a small amount of mineral spirits to a microfiber cloth.
2. Wipe the pole section gently along the length of the tube.
3. Allow the solvent to soften the wax for approximately 30–60 seconds.
4. Continue wiping until the wax is removed.
Do not pour solvent directly onto the pole.
A non-aggressive solvent is generally recommended for removing wax and grease residues
from polished brass surfaces.

Step 3 – Wash the Surface
After wax removal:
1. Mix warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap.
2. Wipe the entire pole with a clean microfiber cloth.
3. Remove any remaining solvent residue.
Mild soap and water are considered the safest cleaning method for finished brass surfaces.

Step 4 – Dry Immediately
Dry the pole completely using a clean microfiber cloth.
Do not allow water to air-dry on the brass surface.

Step 5 – Final Inspection
The surface should appear:
• Uniform
• Clean
• Free of oily residue
• Free of fingerprints

If any wax remains, repeat Steps 2–4.

Frequently asked questions

Depends on coating:
Stainless steel and Chrome poles can be cleaned with a cotton cloth and Nitro diluent 900, or pure alcohol or water and then wiped with dry cotton or microfibre cloth.
Powder-coated parts should be cleaned only with pure alcohol or water and then wiped with dry cotton or microfibre cloth.
Make sure you do not use glass cleaners, especially if they contain the Ammonium Hydroxide Cleaning Agent
Cleaning of the rubber surface on discs is also very important. Use pure alcohol for regular cleaning and nitro diluent 900 for refreshing the surface to be stickier.

Our federation used these poles in the national championship in 2018 and they did precisely what was expected. Athletes had a good grip on the brass and thanks to these poles our very first championship was a success!
